RCC or CCR

(March 2015)

While recently updating information on Number One in West Street, we asked Geoff Durham one of CCR’s leaders who has taken on greater responsibility for the shop, why is it that Rochford Community Church has changed to Community Church Rochford. Here is what Geoff had to say:

The Rochford Community Church name and branding had been around for many years. The church has grown significantly over the last couple of years, with people joining from both the local Rochford area and from further afield. Therefore, when looking at the future vision and image of the church, we wanted to cover a number areas:

 Respond to our growing youth and children groups by having a more modern look to our branding.

 Place an emphasis on being a church for all ages.

 Recognise that ‘community’ is not just the town in which we meet but also the relationships and interaction we have in places of work or with family and friends.

So the result was a modern logo, website and Facebook pages, a ‘strap-line’ saying “for every generation” and the word Community being the first thing people see in the name.

Our church is not a building or a Sunday event; we are a group of people gathering, growing and going together. This means that we support each other in our daily lives, meet together regularly and reach out to those around us. We want to be a community that:

 Gathers to encounter God together, where every generation feels valued and connected to others.

 Grows both in number and as individuals.

 Impacts our local and wider community.
