Join us this summer for the River Crouch Celebrations 2015
(Please copy and paste links to your own browser)
We have brought together eight towns and villages from both sides of the river to gather, share and create stories through arts projects that celebrate the River – its role in the past, its present but unseen beauty and the potential it has to benefit the community in the future. Now, after planning the walks in winter, working in schools and village halls in the spring, the flags are designed and painted and we are ready to begin our 8 day, 100 mile walk!
Eight large scale flags, one for each village, will be collected by the walkers as they pass each place, each day, on their 100 mile walk. This will culminate in a crossing of the River Crouch from South Woodham Ferrers to Hullbridge for a celebratory Feast Day on Saturday 4 July.
Join this 100 mile 8 day walk on foot or online, meet at the ghost crossings and other special places along the way. Share stories and pictures of lost walks and ghost crossings along the River Crouch at www.facebook.com/rivercrouchfestival or @CrouchRiverFest
The Walks itinerary is below; the walks have been designed for people of all ages and abilities, but if you can’t join us on foot, you are invited to wave us off or welcome our walkers. We have arranged meeting points along the way, which will feature work created by seven local primary schools and a team of 8 artists. Come and take part in these celebrations!
We hope to see you along the way!
