Biffa Award boost
Essex Wildlife Trust is pleased to announce additional funding from Biffa Award towards our Ingrebourne Valley Visitor Centre. The centre, in Hornchurch Country Park, is a partnership project between Essex Wildlife Trust and Havering Council and is due to open to the public in autumn 2015. The Biffa Award funding will enable the Trust to install interpretation and digital media throughout the building. More info
Lesser is more
This summer saw Lesser Spotted Woodpecker breed on one of our Danbury reserves for the first time in many years. ‘Lesser Spots’ are little bigger than a sparrow, exceedingly scarce and of highest conservation concern. The birds have particular habitat requirements, including dead standing woodland for nesting: Essex Wildlife Trust’s intricate woodland management ensures that there is plenty of suitable wood available.
