A closer look revealed most of the main marquee taken up by children doing craft activities (below left)) while adults overflowed outside on chairs (right below) or stood around watching or chatting. Church didn’t use to be like this! From time to time, the Minister, Richard Iles took the microphone (left) and either led the church in prayer or brought direction - activity for the adults as well now, a Bible search for those who wanted to do it. Children and families either settle down for picnic lunch or run for first goes on the various things laid on. At odd times, the rain comes down and everyone scampers under cover or the few minutes of the downpour, but I hear not a complaint. It takes more than a little rain to douse the enthusiasm on this field! The sun comes out, inflatables are dried and even little one dare to be ‘gladiators’ for a few minutes. Across the field are two buses, an ambulance and a fire engine. We wandered across to inspect the buses.
