Rochford District Neighbourhood Watch
Who or what is Neighbourhood Watch?
“Rochford District Neighbourhood Watch has approximately 180 volunteers who distribute newsletters to over 4000 houses in our district. In addition to this there are currently 5 others, also volunteers who work out of an office in Rayleigh Police station weekday mornings between 10 and 12 o'clock. Their role is to co-ordinate the various initiatives undertaken e.g. Bike tagging. Our objective is to increase the number of residents who are interested in receiving our newsletter or would like to set up a new watch where currently there is no coverage .We need more volunteers to provide our neighbourhood with a better service, the job is not onerous and can be very rewarding. Are you a member of Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) ?
Would you be prepared to set up a watch in your street ? It's not difficult and can reap benefits.
The formation of NHW groups leads to a greater shared awareness of local problems and a better understanding of the practical steps that can be taken to tackle them. Membership of NHW in Rochford District has increased by over 1000 in the last 12 months.
