Afternoon Tea with the Mayor of Southend! Saturday 4th August 2018
We had a wonderful afternoon taking tea with the new Mayor of Southend, Derek Jarvis, at our annual Afternoon Cream Tea to raise funds for our Day Centre.(The Prosecco went down well in the sweltering heat too!!!)
What more could we want for this Summer event? Delicious food and perfect weather in beautiful surroundings at Porters, the Mayor's Parlour. We raised £791 which will help to pay for Members' days out & activities at the Day Centre. A fantastic result and thank you to everyone that came along to support us!
All the food, drink & raffle prizes were donated, so we'd like to thank: The Cream Tea Society for the Rodda's Cream & Tiptree Jam, Golden Crust Bakery, Hockley, for the Scones, Pam & Tony Acott for all the Cakes and Savoury & Sandwich Platters, Waitrose and M&S for the Prosecco. Then, Tesco, Southend Theatres, Adventure Island & Sealife Centre, Riverside Nursery, Hockley and local artist, Sharon Diack-Thicke for some of the Raffle Prizes.
