Our key note speakers will answer these questions and outline
the help and support that is available for businesses, and how having an apprentice

happening in and around the District, plus provide an excellent opportunity to network
with businesses in the area.

Employability & Skills Unit provide initiatives that help young people in Essex achieve
their full potential through learning as well as supporting employers to generate
wealth, jobs and opportunity.
By addressing skills shortages in key industries, such
as Energy and Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, they provide a foundation
upon which future economic growth and prosperity can be built.
Since 2009 the Employability
& Skills Unit Apprenticeship Team has worked with employers and local training providers
to create over 2,000 Apprenticeships for young people, across the county.

In a challenging economic climate financial
concerns are at the top of the agenda for many businesses. With pressure on prices,
escalating costs and lines of credit being squeezed, it is difficult to find the
financial resources for important areas such as new product development, capital
investment or staff training.
The Funding & Investment Team support businesses with
financial modelling, bid writing, funding consultancy services and bespoke support
packages as well as specialist advice so businesses have the expertise, knowledge
and skills to access competitive funding in the future.

Council leads the way in helping local businesses!
Businesses in the Rochford District can find out how to access funding and support by booking a place at the next Rochford District Council business breakfast set to take place at The Freight House, Bradley Way, Rochford, SS4 1BU on Thursday 10 April 2014, 7:30am to 10:30am.
The FREE event, which the Council runs in partnership with the Essex Federation of Small Businesses and Low Carbon Business, will provide local businesses with a valuable insight into some interesting initiatives happening in and around the District, plus provide an excellent opportunity to network with businesses in the area.
With guest speakers from Essex County Council, Employability and Skills, and Funding and Investment on hand to outline the help and support that is available for businesses and giving practical advice on how to take steps to be sure your business is heading in the right direction. This is a great opportunity for local businesses to gain some tips and advice from the experts.
Rochford District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, Regeneration, Business Liaison and Tourism, Councillor Mike Steptoe, said: “With businesses all over the country feeling the pressure from the current economic climate the Council wants to do everything it can to make a difference to our local economy.
Events such as this are a perfect opportunity to find out from key stakeholders exactly what support there is on offer at a local level and network with others to help each other during these difficult times.”
