ROCHFORD ROTARY CLUB DONATES EDUCATIONAL EQUIPMENT FOR DIABETES TREATMENT

 

Graham Jackson, who was President of the Rotary Club of Rochford for 2015-2016, chose to use some of the funds raised by the Club in his year for educational equipment used in connection with the treatment of diabetes.  He selected Diabetes UK, but specifically wanted the money to be used locally.

Graham’s wife has had type 1 diabetes since 1981 and she benefited from the DAFNE (Dose Adjustment for Normal Eating) course run by Kim Parsons, the Diabetes Service Team Leader.  The equipment donated will be used in the educational courses for both type 1 and type 2 diabetics and consists of:

 A Deluxe Occluded Artery model

 Diabetic Exchange Faux foods Package

 A1c Levels: An inside Look Model Set

 A Scanner

 8 No Hypo box Hypoglycaemia kits
