17 very excited Cubs (Omega Group) were accompanied by 5 Parents, 2 Leaders & 2 Young Leaders who were shown around the Southend Lifeboat Station by the RNLI Volunteers on duty.
The kids asked some very intelligent questions and were able to board a Lifeboat and a Hovercraft Lifeboat (not out at sea though!!!)
They loved trying on all the special clothing & life jackets etc! (Even 2 Parents dressed up in all the gear!)
Apparently it is one of the busiest stations in the country, but luckily no emergency callouts were received while they were there!
The Cubs were all very well behaved and are honoured to have been invited back to help out at the RNLI Open Day in June! Well done kids!
