Kayaking on the Chelmer
4th Rochford Beavers Family Kayaking Fun!!!

The Beavers had a Family Fun Day out, kayaking on the River Chelmer, showing their parents how it's done!
Armed with the Group's 5 kayaks, 5 Leaders, 10 Beavers, 11 Parents & 6 Siblings all took to the water at Paper Mill Lock, taking it in turns on a glorious sunny Autumn day! (Even a white swan & some ducks hung around to see what was going on!!!)
The first Dad out on the water only got about 5 feet into his great kayaking expedition and he fell in!!! (Much to the amusement of all the kids!!!) Unfortunately there is no photographic evidence and I won't name him!!!
For kids (and adults) not very confident on the water, they could use the 2-
But, by the end of the afternoon, every Beaver there had gone out by themselves at some stage, so a great achievement!!!
Some of the people living there on the boats came out to speak to everyone and watch all the fun!!! All in all, a great afternoon for everyone and they can't wait until next time!!!
