Jackie Moss of the Upper Crust Bakery (11th May 2011)
We asked Jackie (or Jack as she’s known to some of the regulars)something of the business:
Jackie: Twenty three years ago we started here. I was here on my own. We had it split two sides, the takeaway that side and this was the bread counter, and I was running from side to side! These days we’re doing more and more variety, including outside catering, whatever anybody wants. We have got quite an extensive menu as you can see. We’re freshly opening up the back garden, freshly decorated, in the couple of weeks or so hopefully. We’re both born local and we get lots of the locals in here, some, as you can see, as soon as we’re open at seven in the morning.
Having dropped in for food a week back, we can testify to the fact that it was good, good value and service is quick and friendly. Having also observed it for a while we note it is certainly a haunt for many of the locals. Here you will never lack for a menu and they speak for themselves!
