Wild Woods Day celebrates its tenth birthday!

On June 1st get ready to enjoy the biggest day out for the Rochford District ever as Wild Woods Day celebrates its tenth birthday!

Between 11am and 4pm Hockley Woods will come alive with fun, free activities and stalls galore, from old favourites like the climbing wall and geocaching to some brand new adventures for you to enjoy!

Why not come along and visit the pop-up market in the Woods selling recycled and upcycled goods as well as fresh local produce, or wonder at the incredible demonstrations by Charlie Bran who makes special organic paper by hand from leaves he collects in local woodlands.

If that wasn’t enough and you fancy a cold drink, then we’ve got just the thing, stop by the amazing bicycle smoothie maker, but be warned, you may have to work for your refreshments!

Simply hop on the stationary bike, pedal away and power the smoothie maker to make yourself a delicious refreshing drink.
If you don’t want to cycle for a smoothie then don’t worry, we will have a refreshments van on site as usual!

Whatever age you are, whatever you enjoy doing, come down and help us celebrate ten years of Wild Woods Day.

The Leader of Rochford District Council, Councillor Terry Cutmore, said: “This is one of the biggest days out of the year in the Rochford District and we regularly welcome two or three thousand people to Hockley Woods for a day of adventures and fun – all with an environmental theme. We’ve had some incredible events take place at Wild Woods Day and we want to make this one the biggest yet, so please feel free to come down and enjoy it, it’s all free of charge and there’s no need to book, I look forward to seeing all of you there.”

Please don’t forget that there’s no on-site parking in Hockley Woods at Wild Woods Day. There is a shuttle bus service from Hockley Community Centre throughout the day.
