Rochford Christmas Festival 2013 - “And a good time was had by all”

The skies may have been grey but Rochford Square was packed and the feeling that was there was that everyone was enjoying themselves. As usual the stage became a focus with acts changing at regular intervals. If you had the stamina and were there from the start in the middle of the day until the lights were turned on at 5.00pm, you would have had a good variety of things happening on the stage and your energy could be bolstered by food and sweet stalls around the Square. Various shops offered mince pies, tea or coffee or mulled wine and the WI did a good business in tea, coffee, cakes etc. in the hall in West Street. As might be expected, not all shops were open, but those who were mostly seemed to have a good number of people passing through, and the atmosphere seemed happy and carefree. As a community exercise it seemed to go well and appeared well attended, and the rain held off!!!!  Below are a few photos to remind you of this year’s event. The earlier ones were about 3.30ish, (the Square busy but manageable),  the later ones at 5.00pm when the ‘Real Thing’ were making a great sound with the crowd joining in (a packed to capacity crowd!)
