4th Rochford Scout Group Harvest Festival Parade! Sunday 4th October 2015

It was a lovely sunny Autumn morning for the annual Harvest Festival Church Parade at St. Andrew's Church in Rochford and we had a brilliant turnout of kids from 4th Rochford Scout Group!

Along with 6 Leaders,11 Beavers, 19 Cubs and 5 Scouts assembled for the Parade in the grounds of the Church, bearing traditional donations of food, tins, jars, fresh produce etc.

The Venerable Mina Smallman, Archdeaconess of Southend, conducted the Service and even chose one of the 4th Rochford Scouts, Connor Moss, to wear her beautiful robe and parade it through the Church, as he was tall enough to show it off to its full effect!!!

4th Rochford Scouts combat the Litter Bugs!!!

Sunday 11th October 2015

10 Scouts and a couple of Leaders spent their Sunday afternoon carrying out a complete litter and rubbish sweep at the Cherry Orchard Jubilee Country Park.

Luckily, it was a pleasant and dry Autumn day and they all had quite a bit of fun armed with litter pickers and dustbin bags!!!

This was their first mission since the 4th Rochford Group became "Friends of Cherry Orchard", a scheme set up in 2010 by Rochford District Council.

Here's a link to the website to find out more information on this scheme:

4th Rochford Scouts Autumn Fun at Thriftwood!!!

16th - 18th October 2015

The Scouts chose a great weekend for their Autumn Camp at Thriftwood Activity Centre, Brentwood! It stayed dry!!!

3 Leaders, 13 Scouts and a couple of Young Leaders had a fun-packed, but exhausting weekend camping and taking part in loads of activities!!!

They scaled the Climbing Wall, did Archery, whizzed round the track in Go-Karts and had fun on the lake in the Peddlerz boats!!!

A big hit with the kids was the Rodeo Inflata-Bull, where they had to hold on tight, as it bucked and tried to throw the rider off!!!

The thrill of the Cresta Run was amazing and even some of the Leaders had a go, speeding down the 50 metre slope!!!
