Venus Rubertazzi: Visual Artist: Venues 1 & 22

Gill Whitehead : Painter: Venue 23

Gill, a newcomer last year (see her interview as well as her works) appears to have expanded her portfolio with great variety of style and subject matter.  Photos don’t do justice to the works.

Karen arrived on our scene last year (see her interview and more works) with an incredible variety of subjects and styles. Especially moving are the ‘therapeutic’ figure paintings, but if you go to last year’s pages you will see some more of the beautiful work and variety that this prolific painter creates.

Karen Wilcox : Painter: Venue 2

Jasmine Williams: Visual Artist: Venue 6

Last but not least in our A-Z of artists, Jasmine is one of this year’s newcomers and although her work is distinctive and interesting, the light reflection inside Odells sadly defeated our cameras (yes we do have two people working, to double our chances of getting something good!) Don’t be put off by us Jasmine - forgive our inadequacies - come back again next year and bring some more (without glass if possible). We like what we see.

Our photo above does no justice to the clever work - there are well known figures in many of the windows! (We struggled for 20 minutes, drawing blinds, putting on and off lights to try to do justice to this piece of work - and failed!!! All we can say is, great stuff Danny, come back again next year with more!

Danny, another newcomer to the Trail, by the very nature of his work presented an almost impossible challenge to us to photograph his ‘dark’ works. They have to be seen.

Venus’s work this year seems less ‘dark’ than last year and as much as we really like it, we struggled, as you can see(!) with light reflection in both the street and the pavilion which takes away the strength of her distinctive characters. - but don’t be put off by us Venus, more next year please!
