4th Rochford Scout Leaders keep their Promise to Help Others!!! 4th December 2015
You may have read recently about part of the Church wall of our beautiful St. Andrew’s Church being kicked down by vandals!
To prevent any further vandalism with the loose bricks, 3 of our OLDER members of the 4th Rochford Scout Group ( i.e. the Leaders!!!), went along to the Church last week and kept the Scout Law of their “Promise to Help Others”!
Armed with shovels & spades, they helped the new Church Warden, Clive Willson, to remove and store them away safely out of harm’s way, until it can be rebuilt again!
The Leaders were Mike Meen, Steve Tong & Chris Davis (pictured).
(Ed. “Well done guys!”)
4th Rochford Scout Group sing Carols at Broadoaks Care Home!
15th December 2015
The Scouts & Beavers were in fine voice when they went along to sing Carols & Christmas songs to the Residents of "Broadoaks" Care Home in Rochford.
The Residents all joined in and thoroughly enjoyed hearing the kids sing!
It was a lovely atmosphere and the children went round to wish everyone individually a “Happy Xmas”!
Tesco very kindly donated mince pies & mulled wine for everyone to start off the "Countdown to Christmas"!!!
A fun evening!!!
Note from the editor
And so we go full circle
Congratulations to all of you. This last entry reminds me of the first series of photos you sent me exactly a year ago when you were singing carols at Broomhills. It has been a great pleasure to observe all you have been doing over this past year. Well done to all of you -
