(Xmas Fun at the Peaceful Place)
4th Rochford Scouts Xmas Fun at the Peaceful Place!!! 22nd December 2015
14 Scouts and 2 leaders went along to the Peaceful Place Day Centre in Dalys Road, Rochford, to help the Members who suffer with Young Onset Dementia, make Xmas cards & decorations to take home to their families!
They made a really long paper chain the whole length of the Day Centre too!!! (I had to get them to stand in a circle to get it all in the photograph though!)
Everyone had a wonderful afternoon and I am proud to say that the children all showed such kindness & compassion to the Members. They chatted to them about their families, played games and we all sang along to Christmas songs too!
The Staff at Peaceful Place all said what a great group of young people they are and the Members loved having them there!
This is part of the Scouts million hands project, to take time to help others in the community. The 4th Rochford Scouts all became Dementia Friends in September and have a Community Partnership with the Peaceful Place.
