Young People Looking for Work

Name: Daniel

“First of all, I'm new to the area, and have found the magazine to be a friendly and fun way to learn my surroundings, so thank you very much!
Secondly, I'm currently looking for work, and was wondering if I could gather any help since you have connections to the town. I'm 18 and fairly inexperienced, but I'm friendly, have 12 GCSEs at A*-C and am a very hard worker, and I just need someone to give me an opportunity to show this. Any help would be much much appreciated!
Thirdly, I have a commission-based job, but obviously it's a very slow business. It's basically a new government scheme that offers all homeowners and private landlords the ability to have free insulation and cavity wall insulation fitted. If there is any way at all this could be placed on the website, I would be eternally grateful.

PERSONAL PROFILE

I am an enthusiastic, keen and impassioned individual, and I know that I have a versatile range of skills that would ensure my success in a number of fields. I care about the community and having volunteered at Youth Groups, I have established interpersonal skills which are invaluable in the work place.

INTERESTS & HOBBIES

I have some previous experience volunteering at a youth group, which included setting up equipment and operating the shop. I enjoyed this as it gave me a chance to interact with several different members of the community and improve my social skills. I also helped operate the Brixham College radio station, which included queuing up songs, recording shows and doing the occasional live show to the school. This led to having the opportunity to take part in a session at the local radio station, Palm FM, where I helped edit sports updates to go out on air across Torbay, an experience I found fun and fulfilling. I have used computers on a day-to-day basis from a young age, and so am very skilled in using Microsoft Office, navigating the internet and a range of other computer tasks. I use the internet to keep up to date in World affairs, which I find fascinating. I have also played video games from a young age, and now in particular I enjoy playing online, to socialise with friends, work as a team and interact with hundreds of people online.
