35. The Next Generation to Heaven
There are times when life sneaks up on you with sober thoughts. It did the other day. The mother of a friend of ours recently died and the friend was suddenly aware that her mother dying meant that the last of that generation in that family had died.
It’s something that happens to many of us. Our parents die, and our uncles and aunts gradually pass away and before we know what has happened we find that WE are the next generation waiting for heaven. Suddenly life is like waiting at a bus stop for the next bus to pick us up, and there is nobody in the queue ahead of us. It’s just us. So it seemed like a little reflective time for us silver surfers was warranted.
