History and art combine for the latest Rayleigh Windmill exhibition

The Rayleigh Windmill may not be powered by wind anymore, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be transported back to a time when it was!

From Wednesday August 15, Essex artist, Max Dolding will be re-creating his popular installation which conjures up, through sound and images, how the inside of Rayleigh Windmill may have been in 1907, the last time it was driven by wind power as a working windmill. The exhibition runs until Sunday September 30.

The Rayleigh Windmill is open on Wednesdays from 10:00am–1:00pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00-4:00pm.

For more information on Rayleigh Windmill and the exhibitions at the Windmill please contact Rochford District Council Leisure Team on 01702 546366.

Please check the website before visiting as the Windmill is sometimes closed for private events www.rochford.gov.uk/windmill
