The Friends of Cherry Orchard Jubilee Country Park have organised a special “Celebrate the first day of spring” walk on Sunday, March 20 which is open to everyone who wants to come along.
The walk starts in Hockley Woods Car Park at 11am sharp and will make its way to the lake at Cherry Orchard. The walk will be led by the Friends of group along with representatives from Rochford District Council’s open spaces team, the Essex Wildlife Trust and The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).
If you are planning on coming along to the walk it’s highly recommended that you wear a pair of walking shoes or wellingtons as it is still quite muddy underfoot.
Rochford District Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Councillor Mike Steptoe, said: “With the car park finished we can now welcome many more people to this beautiful country park. The Council is committed to making Cherry Orchard a place that can be enjoyed by as many people as possible, whether it’s walking, cycling or horseriding there’s something for everyone so please come along and enjoy this wonderful open space.”
